York University
CS starts during COVID. Confidence? Gone.
Walked into York with high expectations. I was already solid at problem solving from high school, coding ninjas, leetcode, the whole thing. Thought I'd crush it. Nope. From day one I couldn't keep up with the pace. The entire degree was online because of COVID, which made everything worse. I started doubting myself hard. Like, really hard. Looking at my peers and the job market, I was fully convinced I couldn't make it. No matter how much I tried to learn, it never felt like enough. Something always felt empty inside. Adulting hit me like a truck. But weirdly, one thing did click. I was actually good at investing. That was the one thing keeping me sane.
What this taught me
Sometimes the thing you enrolled for isn't the thing you're built for. And that's not failure. That's just data.
